Planned properly, an overhaul is a scheduled cost

We plan, staff, execute and document overhauls of main and auxiliary engines. Because our service engineers, workshop and parts supply sit in the same organisation, components come out, go to the bench and go back in without waiting on a third party. An overhaul almost always grows once units are opened up. We quote a defined scope and agree in advance how additional findings are handled and priced, so a discovered liner or bearing does not stall the job for two days of negotiation.

Overhaul types

  • Top overhaul – cylinder heads, valves, injectors, piston ring inspection. The routine interval, done well.
  • Partial overhaul – pistons and liners drawn, bearings inspected, running gear measured, turbocharger and coolers as required.
  • Major overhaul – full disassembly to the engine builder’s schedule, crankshaft measurement, bedplate and frame checks, complete reassembly and trial running.
